Party Time at Terra Firma!  The 3rd Annual Beach Bash theme was Lost Weekend, and the challenge to vidders was to "come up with a video that involves ANY version of a weekend that somehow disappeared or slipped away from one or more of the characters for any reason. "

I decided to focus on Zhaan, whose desire to pursue her Seek is sidetracked by other things!

The 33rd Clamshell Challenge asked us to pick a song from Rolling Stone's list of Top 100 Best Songs from 2006.

My choice brings us John Crichton, who has been set upon by everyone in the universe, and for all his good intentions, he wonders if everyone wouldn't be better off without him in it!

Underdog
Theme Song from the Underdog Cartoon Show
Edited:  January 2007
File Size:  14 MB, 640 x 480
Duration:  1:18

This video was done for the 2nd Terra Firma Not-So-Annual Beach Bash Party!  The theme of the party was "Hope."

And who, I ask you, embodies Hope more than the intrepid... Underdog?  That's right, this is the theme song for the Underdog cartoon show, which I think is one of the best theme songs ever!

The lyrics are here.

MacGyFar
Music:  Theme from the MacGyver TV show
Edited:  September 2006
File Size:  11.5 MB, wmv, 640 x 480
Duration:  1:13

The 29th Clamshell Challenge was alot of fun.  It asked us to pick another TV show and, as closely as possible, re-create its opening credits for Farscape.

Because of Ben Browder's recent role on Stargate SG-1 and the ensuing online madness over his "replacing" Richard Dean Anderson, I could not resist vidding the MacGyver intro, with Ben Browder replacing him once again!

Personally, I think both actors are very fine, so this is done with much affection.

For fun I also offer this version:  My credits with a PIP of MacGyver's actual credits so you can see what I was trying to match.

File Size:   34 MB, wmv, 720 x 480
Duration:  2:20

For the 26th Clamshell Challenge we were asked to pick a song from the year we were born. I couldn't resist the combination of Green Door and John Quixote, and it gave me a chance to experiment with some effects I haven't tried before.

The following two videos were born of the 25th Clamshell Challenge, which was to make a video from a single episode from the provided list of 12 eps.  These two songs off a CD by The La's struck me as fun companion pieces for Throne For a Loss.

The Happening (small) - 11 MB, 360 x 240

This video of the TJohn/Choice/MJohn saga was done for the 24th Clamshell Challenge - make a vid to Classic Motown music.

The tune of this song is light and bouncy, but the lyrics tell a story of loss which seemed to me a good match for Aeryn's tragic love life.

Music:  What I Like About You
By The Romantics
Edited:  March 2006
File Size:   9 MB, wmv, 640 x 480

This was my contribution to the Terra Firma "Come As You Are" 1000th member celebration.  It's just a bit of nonsense - a party invitation, of sorts! (The song is edited down to just under a minute.)

Can You Imagine?
Music  by Tim Russ
Edited:  February 2006
File Size:   23 MB, wmv, 640 x 480
Duration:   2:26

The 22nd Clamshell Challenge asked us to find a song recorded by a TV actor, preferably in the sci-fi genre.   I chose Tim Russ, who played Tuvok on Star Trek Voyager. He wrote 3 of the songs on the CD I found, and this song is one of his.

After all they’ve been through, Pilot is still reveling in the choice he made that fateful day when he agreed to go with Velorek.

Anything You Can Do
From Annie Get Your Gun
Performed by Bernadette Peters & John Wopat
Edited:  January 2006
File Size:   30.1 MB, wmv, 720 x 480
Duration:   3:37

This video was done in response to the 21st Clamshell Challenge:  Use a song from a stage or movie musical.

While sampling the Annie Get Your Gun soundtrack, this song struck me immediately as a fit for the adversarial nature of Sikozu and John's relationship!   It was a really fun video to make, and I hope it's fun to watch, too!

Burbank 2006 Farscape Convention:  I'm thrilled and honored to note that this video was a winner at the convention and was played as the introduction to Raelee Hill's stage appearance!

Links to most of the other winning videos from 2006 can be found at the Terra Firma Clamshell.

Polyester Bride
Music By Liz Phair
Edited:  January 2006
File Size:   29.9 MB, wmv, 640 x 480
Duration:   4:14

This is a slightly alternate universe story set after Neri has left Chiana to join the Resistance.  She's been getting by on her wits and charm for awhile now, and has finally found a safe place to lay low and contemplate her life, and a friend who's willing to listen.

I liked Liz Phair's no-frills voice and the general attitude of this song for Chiana.   Hope you enjoy it!

Tengo Que Decirte Algo
(I Have to Tell You Something)
Sung by Gloria Estefan and Jose Feliciano
Edited:  December 2005
File Size:   15.6 MB, wmv, 640 x 480
Duration:   2:00

For the 19th Clamshell Challenge we were asked to use a song with non-English lyrics.  I chose this song to tell the story of the Chiana/Jothee/D’Argo incident. Chiana is regretful, knows she should tell D’Argo about Jothee, but also knows it will hurt him and fears he won’t forgive her. D’Argo realizes something is wrong and assures her that he will forgive her – just “face what you’ve done.” Little does he know what he’s asking.

The English translation is here.

Nervous Nights
Music:  Nervous Night by The Hooters
Edited:  July 2005
File Size:   20.7 MB, wmv, 640 x 480
Duration:   3:37

For the 13th Clamshell Challenge:  Make a video to bring former viewers back to Farscape.
In deciding how to approach this challenge I thought back to when I was first watching Season 1 of Farscape while also watching videos from Seasons 2-4, and the feeling of anticipation I had looking forward to seeing future episodes to find out the real stories behind those enticing scenes.  So, this is a video montage from Seasons 3 and 4.  The song Nervous Night set the theme for me - moments of tension, apprehension, indecision.
One note for anyone not into old movies, my teaming of Moya with “African Queen” is a nod to the Humphrey Bogart movie, in which the African Queen was his boat.

Still the Night for D' & Chi
Music:  Still the Night, by the BoDeans
Edited:  May 2005
File Type:  11.8 MB, wmv, 640 x 480
Duration:  2:11

In memory of happier times for D'Argo and Chiana (pre-PKW).  Hope you enjoy it.

I took huge liberties with the song – cut it down from 4 minutes to 2, taking instrumental bits out here and there, plus a couple choruses and the 3rd verse (which was basically a combo of the first two verses). I also had to rearrange a few things to make it work. Kind of fun, and I think it turned out pretty well.   (Lyrics here)

Jool's Rugged Road
Music:  There's a Rugged Road, sung by Shawn Colvin
Edited:  April 2005
File Size:  22.4 MB, avi, 320 x 240
Duration:  3:43

I thought this was a good song for Jool’s struggle to adjust to and fit in with her new, unexpected life, through her discovery of her destiny.

Here is a link to the WMV version, slightly less quality - especially in the Season 4 clips.

Need You Tonite
Music:  Need You Tonite, by INXS
Edited:  February 2005
File Size:  13.0 MB, wmv, 320 x 240
Duration:  3:09

This video was done for the 4th Clamshell Challenge, which was to make a video from one of the top 20 songs from any year in the 1980s.

This vid has John wallowing in misery over Aeryn's recent disappearance.  As he asks himself what he can do to find her, he "sees" his friends (and Scorpius) asking the questions he's struggling with.  He takes a few slightly AU (at this point in his relationship with Aeryn, at any rate) side trips, allowing his mind to dwell on Chiana and the comfort she could bring.

DRDs are multi-faceted little guys!  This video was done in response to the 3rd Clamshell Challenge, which was to make a video to an instrumental song, and is a tongue-in-cheek look at the many roles played by DRDs.

This all started with an offhand remark I made in an email. Then the song wouldn't stay out of my head. Then a little voice started whispering "you could do this" and "you could do this."  Here is the result.
